It’s finally summertime and everyone is looking for the perfect shades to wear. Here are five fabulous brands I discovered at this year’s Vision Expo that you will want to check out on National Sunglass Day.
ROXY has been empowering girls to live their dreams and explore the world since 1990. This adventure-inspired brand motivates women to be active and engaged. ROXY is the “original” surf brand for women, inspired by the mountains and the waves. Remaining true to their brand, they design eyewear for high performance activities, but also sell fashionable shades with trendy colors and styles. My two favorite styles are “Jill” (black frames with a double bridge and grey lenses that fit great on small frame faces) and the “Uma” (black frames with pink metallic-mirrored lenses.)
Philippe V Eyewear designs are handmade in Japan by master craftsmen using traditional methods of production and with exclusive noble materials. The creator of Philippe V, Philippe Vergez, believes people need to express their individualism in a world where they are surrounded by globalized conformity. The W N°2, has round lenses but a black, pointed corners to give it a slight cat-eye shape. The corners are also embellished with gold designs to give it a vintage high-end feel. These are available in black/green, black/rose gradient, tortoise/brown and tortoise/brown gradient.

Toni Ko, Founder of NYX cosmetics latest endeavor is PERVERSE sunglasses. These shades have seen on celebrities including Beyonce, Jessica Alba, and Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner. Their hottest seller this summer is the half and half, round sunnies with dual colored lenses. No two are the same and their color variations make them uniquely beautiful. These are a steal for only $45 dollars!
Los Angeles-based Moni Moni handbag designer Cinzia Moniaci created a boho rock inspired eyewear collection made in Italy. A “Moni Moni” girl is someone who doesn’t follow trends, as she sets them and knows how to have fun with it. There’s an ‘M’ with a heart on every bridge and the tips of the arms are also shaped like a heart. Moni Moni’s eyewear cases, looks like little French bags and have straps and a compartment for cellphones too. Check out Moni Moni website, their collection will be posted soon.
Twin designers Corianna and Brianna founded Coco and Breezy in 2009. Coco and Breezy collaborated with Hershey and designed eyewear inspired by the color of Twizzlers and Jolly Ranchers. Check out this colorful collection of candy inspired frames.
