I love music festivals, I absolutely love them! There was something missing from my life and I figured out what that was this past weekend, Electric Zoo. Electric Zoo 2023 was the first festival I’ve been to since the pandemic. For someone who’s attended a lot of electronic festivals, I missed festivals, I missed Electric Zoo. Electric Zoo kicked off shaky, to say it mildly. The three-day festival cancelled Friday’s festivities. Saturday was set to open at 11am but wound-up opening at 3pm. The festival was beset with lines, crowds, and overwhelming confusion. Ubers weren’t allowed drop offs or pickups.…

Some good things happened with covid. Ok maybe it’s a stretch but hear me out. Dress codes changed, tele-commuting is a plus, Selden got a great new spot. Neighbors Sports Bar and Grill. In terms of gastropubs this place is a stand out! There is something special happening in Selden. At the corner of Middle Country Rd and Selden Ct, stand the newest Gastropub- Neighbors. The LIB team made a pitstop here and were pleasantly delighted. I love gastropubs. They are more casual than a full scale restaurant, and more upscale than a a deli type of establishment. Gastropubs are…
Images populated by Google Dear Friends of Coney Island USA: It is with sadness that we announce the cancellation of the 2021 Mermaid Parade. When we set the September date, we hoped that the Parade, the largest art parade in the nation and a point of civic pride for Coney Island, would represent a return to normalcy. Unfortunately, COVID-19 is not finished with us quite yet. The Parade draws hundreds of thousands to Coney Island every year, including large numbers of children, many crowding onto mass transit for the ride out to Stillwell Avenue. It is the centerpiece of…
All photos populated via Google During this forced downtime time, my imagination has been running rampant. I have been thinking of travel more and more. I decided to list the places I want to visit. This is effectively my bucket list. Resort areas aren’t included because after you’ve seen one great beach (Turks and Caicos) all else fails in comparison. Istanbul 10. Istanbul, Turkey Turkey has always been a place that fascinates me. The Bosphorus Strait separates Europe from Asia. It is the crossroads of the world. I love coffee culture. Since young I’ve considered myself to live a café…
This has been a long time in the making, but as the adage goes, better late than never. I’d like to say recently we saw a comedy show hosted by Eye Doctor productions. I’d like to say it, but it depends on how thin you can stretch a timeline. The new Bellport Brewery has opened it’s doors to independent artists. This is what community should look like. The tasting room is phenomenal. It can seat 50 people comfortably, and once this scourge of Covid passes it can fit 80 easily. Perfect place to share a flight and laugh out laugh.…
– Vincent Van Gogh Enjoying a moment – Van Gogh self portrait Art feeds the soul. It is one of the reasons to be alive. It brings the out what is inside. As we pulled up to Vesey St, Jersey looks so…

Sullivan King, the one-half metal, one-half bass music artistic creation of Keaton Prescott, has officially unleashed his highly anticipated and genre-bending album LOUD today on Hopeless Records. The brand new music video for “Lock Me Up” features Jason Aalon of FEVER 333. Watch here: https://smarturl.it/SKLOCKMEUP. Keaton shares, “’Lock Me Up’ has been one of the favorites by far for a ton of the people I’ve showed this record to. It’s just a really rowdy track that showcases a lot of what I really gravitate towards in rock and metal and punk: really gritty vocals, fast and upbeat drums, and thick as hell guitars and bass. It’s definitely one…
All photos provided by Google. As I sit here letting the squares on the calendar tick off, I sit here grateful. Grateful that I am able to write this, grateful that you are able to read this. Life is precious, if nothing else Covid taught us that. I think all of us know someone afflicted with this scourge of society…. And if you don’t thank whatever deity you choose…. And it might be time to get out and meet people. I wonder what norms are going to change? It’s obvious things will change,…
