Girls, gays and grannies gathered at the 99-seat DR2 Theatre in Union Square for That Golden Girls Show, a show that parodies classic Golden Girls moments with puppets. Four puppeteers dressed all in black and held the puppets of the four iconic Golden Girl characters Blanche, Rose, Sofia and Dorothy. The puppeteers were expressive and even embodied Sofia’s walk and Blanche’s southern charm. However, the character of Stan, Dorothy’s ex husband. was played by an actor not a puppet. The Oddball Festival stopped at Jones Beach and brought some of the best stand-up comedians in the industry to Long Island, NY. Jeff Ross, served as both a host and a comedian at Oddball Comedy Festival. The heavy rainstorms did not stop fans from tailgating and rocking out to Disturbed and Breaking Benjamin at Jones Beach on Saturday. Both bands played setlists that combined old favorites as well as new tracks.
