    Baseball legends at Steiner Sports

    0
By Adam Charach on May 15, 2015 Sports

A few of baseball’s finest were at the Steiner Sports Store in the Roosevelt Field Mall on Monday, May 11th, 2015. Hall of Famer Frank Robinson of the Baltimore Orioles, Hall of Famer “The Hawk” Andre Dawson of the Chicago Cubs and Montreal Expos were joined by “The Warrior” himself Paul O’Neill of the New York Yankees.

Frank RobinsonFrank Robinson besides being one of the all time great outfielder was the first African-American Manager (1975) of an MLB team the Cleveland Indians. Frank Robinson is the only player in MLB history to win both AL (Baltimore) and NL (Cincinnati) MVP awards. He drew a great crowd of people trying to complete multi signed 500 Home run club pieces and Triple Crown Pieces. Robinson was inducted to Cooperstown in 1982.

    Andre Dawson

Andre “The Hawk” Dawson was one of the greatest Cubs and Expos players of all time. He was an all around great player who contributed in every category. He might never have won a World Series, but anyone who needed this Hall of Famer to complete their collection was there. Dawson joined the Hall of Fame in 2010.

    Paul O'Neill

Paul O’Neill might be one of the most intense players I have ever seen. He was never shy to show his emotions and had a warriors soul. Hence why his nickname is “The Warrior”. He is a 5 time World Series Champion, winning one with the Reds and four with the Yankees. Besides all those accomplishments, the one thing he really wants to be remembered for is winning the NL batting Title in 1994.

All of these former athletes are still very much apart of the game. Whether offering their advice or broadcasting on television. Everyone who met these gentlemen had nothing but nice things to say and hopefully more of these fans collections got closer to completion.
