Nothing can stop the party people from getting their groove on at Blue. Not rain, nor sleet nor thunder and lightning. Upon my last visit I escaped a summertime storm and entered the front doors of Blue to the sounds of Eddie Murphy’s “Party All the Time” and felt immediately like I had been transported to a sophisticated, breezy, tropical paradise. On its website, this Blue Point establishment claims to be sleek and sexy, posh and elegant, and it did not disappoint. Blue is primarily a restaurant featuring traditional and fusion cuisine, but draws the crowds to their ultra-trendy night club on the weekends. And thankfully for its patrons, Blue’s weekend begins on Thursday evening and carries the party through Friday and Saturday nights.

Blue’s location in the heart of Central/Eastern Suffolk County makes it a popular hangout without being overcrowded or congested. It’s distance from Western Suffolk and the Hamptons puts it in a league of its own in the area. “There aren’t too many places like us out here,” explained General Manager Luke Gregory. And it’s true, despite the plethora of warm weather, outdoor activities and the seasonal popularity of the Hamptons, Blue consistently packs the house. If you’re looking for a chill vibe and a luxurious atmosphere, or you want to impress a date, Blue is the place to be.

The venue is split into four sections – the restaurant, bar, dance floor and a covered outdoor area. In addition to the extensive and multi-cultural menu, there is also a late night menu and bottle service. The restaurant offers a popular social hour from Monday through Friday from 4 to 7:30pm, and don’t miss Friday’s Lobster Fest. There are three seatings beginning at 4pm where you can get your fill of fresh steamed lobster, an unlimited buffet and drink specials.

On my stormy, Thursday night visit, the dance floor was filling up at 10:30pm and the party was just getting started. So put on your swanky threads and get yourself over to Blue for some great food, a fabulous party and an extraordinary experience.
