Lady in the Moon Poetry by Teresa Salyer

Lady In The Moon

Submitted by Teresa Salyer

Beneath the moonlit trees

My lady shakes her ribbons free

And with a smile that tastes of wine

She sweetly kisses me

Silent shadows dance

Playing tricks on reality

The only sound that’s heard

Is our heartbeat

My hope for love was fading

Like a cloud across the moon

I didn’t find you

Any too soon

My lady

My lady in the moon

Tattered clouds throw shadows

With cold uncertainty

But in my arms a dream

Has become reality

Too late for what if’s and when’s

And what could have been

Tonight I found my lady

My lady in the moon
