“I love to perform and I love to make people dance, smile, and get wild!”
Look out, California because a hot new artist is coming your way! While 23 year-old Lindsey Jennings love the Big Apple, unfortunately, her time in New York City is slowly but surely coming to a close. Jennings has recently announced that she and her manager, Swagga Bob, plans to move to California this coming January in the hopes of breaking into the music industry on the West Coast.
However, that doesn’t mean NYC fans won’t be able to get a chance to see her before she heads over to sunny California; Jennings will be performing two more shows as well as performing an exclusive track for the LIB Mixtape. She also excited to announce that fans will be able to hear more of her music. “My first official mixtape ‘Inappropriate Behavior’ dropped June 1stt and features DJ Triple XL of Kiss FM! It’s been getting great reviews and lots of plays and downloads so I am super pumped about that!” Jennings adds.
Aside from her official mixtape, shows, and the exclusive track for the LIB Mixtape, Jennings is also proud to announce that she will be releasing her first-ever music video too.
“Also on Tuesday, June 18th, my first official music video drops and I can’t wait! It will be on my YouTube account and it’s for a song called ‘Wow’ off the ‘Inappropriate Behavior’ mixtape.”
Jenning’s busy schedule clearly shows that she has had a great deal of experience in the music industry. She is a self-described rapper, singer, and model who has performed all over Long Island with her electronica style and has appeared at venues such as the Silk Ultra Lounge in Hauppauge to the VIBELOUNGE in Rockville Center.
“If you can get people to dance you can get them to do anything.”
However, she first got her start as a musician thanks to a funny remix of Mims’ “This is Why I’m Hot.” Friends loved to hear her rap and this inspired her to move forward with her career. Jennings elaborates on what drew her to becoming a rap artist: “I started rapping when I was really young because I love to write and I love music, and it’s been an amazing way to express my feelings and just have fun! I love to perform and I love to make people dance, smile, and get wild!” She also added that over the years, her sound has been influenced by musical greats such as Freddie Mercury, The Beatles, Gwen Stefani, Lil Wayne, and Snoop Dogg. It’s clear that her sound crosses genres, which is only fitting for an artist who both sings and raps.
However, when asked what she loves most about being a musician, Jennings says that observing the audience dancing and singing along to her music is incredibly satisfying for her. “If you can get people to dance you can get them to do anything,” she says.“Dancing is so good for you and everybody should dance.”
Lindsey is also quite hopeful about her career move and is excited about the prospect of collaborating with other artists. While her dream collaboration would be with her idol Snoop Dogg or her new neighbor Wiz Khalifa, Jennings is also open to working with pretty much anyone, so long as they are creative and talented. “But of course I would like to work with any talented musicians, songwriters, producers, and artists, I love to create and I’m always down to collaborate! So hit me up my official Twitter account!” She adds with a mischievous tone.
Although she is moving to Los Angeles, Jennings definitely won’t forget about Long Island. “I love you Long Island,” she exclaims. “Pay attention to me while I’m in Cali!”
