Luna Aura opened up the show for Wargasm and Corey Taylor at The Paramount in Huntington Saturday, September 16th, 2023 and absolutely rocked the show. Luna took the time to talk to LIB Magazine about her new album The Fiction EP and life on tour.
LIB: Are you a Slipknot fan?
Luna Aura: I’m definitely a Slipknot fan! I respect and admire their ability to not only make insanely great songs that shred, but also they’re ability to be unapologetically themselves at all times, especially Corey.
LIB: Are you excited to be touring with Corey Taylor?
Luna Aura: I’m beyond excited! It was hard to believe when I first got the call that I had gotten the opening slot, but I pinched myself enough at this point to know it’s really happening.
LIB: Do you have any tour rituals?
Luna Aura: Stretching, vocal warm-ups, and a little witchcraft before I hit the stage. Usually in the form of a quick prayer or quiet moment to myself.
LIB: Give me a sneak peak into The Fiction EP?
Luna Aura: This EP is about the balance between truth and fallacy. I wrote a majority of it with Simon Oscroft, who is an incredible producer and songwriter from New Zealand. We really wanted to create something that was reminiscent of the 90s (my favorite era of music), but also felt modern and fresh. A lot of the musical inspiration came from Blur, Deftones, and Alanis. I’m really proud of it!
LIB: Is that a real white snake in your promotional photos? If yes, were you scared?
Luna Aura: It definitely is!! Her name is Spirit and she was such a joy to work with. I’m not scared of snakes at all, they’re actually very shy and timid creatures. They just want to be handled with care and most of them would never hurt a human (unless they deserved it).
