At 13 years old, Charlie Dane is an established musician. She wrote and recorded her debut album, Dreamland, on her own. She’s performed at over 100 shows in just 8 months, and with the ambition she thrives, she’s not slowing down. Her voice is extremely pure and unique, while listening to her songs at first I thought I was listening to someone who has been in the business for decades. I couldn’t fathom it was a teenager’s voice that sounded so cultured and in full bloom. Charlie’s talent speaks for itself and her old-school sound is here to stay!
The soulful singer from Oyster Bay writes all of her music, and spends her free time working on her new material. “I love Taylor Swift, and a lot of people tell me I’m just like her. I also like Demi Lovato and Lady Gaga, and older artists like the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, because I’m also influenced by the music my parents listen to,” says Dane. Her inspiration definitely shines through her music, she sounds exactly like a combination of all of those musicians.
Dane is not afraid to belt notes and experiment with her vocals in a way that most musicians would be scared of. Our very own Long Islander sings about events in her life and the people around her. She tackles the concept of death and loss in “Past the Point.” Her ability to express serious and deep issues is evident. As she grows she is bound to find experiences in her life that she can use to pour her heart and soul into her music.

Charlie Dane’s voice sets her apart from everyone else in today’s industry, she sings from within and all her fans can relate to her lyrics. She has wowed audiences across NYC, opening up for Eric Krasno at Sullivan Hall, for Papa Grows Funk at Hiro Ballroom (at a benefit to help Paul Newman’s Hole in the Wall Gang Camp), and for members of The Radiators – playing as Raw Oyster Cult at AOA. This emerging multi-talented young artist has a promising career ahead of her. She’s just now getting started, her debut album
“Dreamland” has a very upbeat pop/rock sound to it. It’s cultivating, this little girl has a big voice, and we can’t wait to hear more of her in the near future!
