The Hub of Hudson Hotel NYC was immediately transformed into a preppy chic spot for Grungy Gentleman’s first ever runway presentation on Sept 4. The event effectively held its place in kicking off Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring 2015, where a large number of guests (including UFC Lightweight Champ Anthony Pettis) dressed mainly in jeans and calf-length ensembles, smoothly sipping beer at the neon lit bar located close to a runway stage.
Around 9pm, the cool kids strutted their stuff in what is sure to be the city’s most wanted Mens casuals. Originally started as a Mens fashion blog by owner and designer Jace Lipstein, Grungy Gentleman defines infectiously collectible daywear, black bottoms and the coolest socks around — tailored with a bit of sheen here and there — to kick off New York Fashion Week. Model Rafael Valentino walked the stage in neutral plaid, navy blue zip front hoodie and one of the brand’s outstanding, full length Spring blazers to prove this brand is so much more than very chic sweatpants. On a slightly more nocturnal note, the Grungy collection of Mens jackets was superb at interpreting uncontrived versions of Pantone palette shades Aurora Red and Marsala. Unfamiliar with the #grungygentleman life? The brand’s blog covers everything from drinking scotch to much-needed male accessories.
