Local film producer and publicist Dayna Ghiraldi premiered her first horror movie OLD 37 this week at Glen Cove Cinemas. OLD 37 is a horror film about two mentally disturbed brothers who pose as paramedics, intercept emergency calls, and torture injured victims seeking medical help. OLD 37 was filmed in Long Island towns including Patchogue, Hampton Bays, Farmingville, and Holtsville. This feature stars Kane Hodder, Bill Moseley, and Miley Cyrus’ older sister, Brandi Cyrus. The movie also has a solid soundtrack with songs from The Used, Circa Survive, Night Riots, Sheppard, and many more.
Without spoiling the ending, here are 10 Important Lessons learned from OLD 37:
1) Family can physically and mentally scar you for life.
Traumatizing experiences plus hereditary mental illness make the perfect formula for horror movie serial killers.
2) Don’t try to look like someone else, be happy with who you are.
Altering your image can lead to a case of mistaken identity, or worse!
3) Don’t stick your nose where it doesn’t belong.
Being nosey can backfire; know when to back off of a potentially dangerous situation.
4) Distracted Driving can result in death.
Multitasking while driving never ends well; remember that whatever it is, it can wait!
5) Bimbos die first in horror films.
Well, don’t they always die in scary movies? Advice: don’t be a hoe!
6) Don’t do stupid or dangerous things to impress others.
Enough said!
7) Don’t trust the words, “Don’t worry, I’m a paramedic.”
If you weren’t paranoid before entering the movie, you will fear paramedics when you leave the theater!
8) Living in the city isn’t scary, but living near the woods is!
Don’t hang out in the middle of nowhere, where no one can hear you scream if you are in distress.
9) Fake breasts can save lives?
In rare cases breast implants can save lives. (It’s true. I Googled it!)
10) Revenge is a kind of wild justice.
Those who hurt you will eventually get what they deserve. What comes around goes around!
Teenage gore, thriller and slasher fans, OLD 37 will be released on DVD October 6th. Pre-order now at WalMart, Amazon, or Best Buy to reserve a copy before Halloween! www.old37themovie.com
