David Bligh is running for Suffolk County Legislature in the 4th district. The fourth district is essentially Hawkins Ave in Ronkonkoma the the west and Route 112 in the east. It incorporates part of Lake Ronkonkoma, Holbrook, Farmingville, Holtsville, Centereach and Selden.
Suffolk County Legislature is responsible for setting county policy. They also adopt all capital, operating and college budgets- Suffolk County Community College in Selden falls in this district.
Yes federal politics is important but local politics affect your daily lives more. Local politics deals with infrastructure (road repairs), school budgets, and overall tenor of community. Local Politics are important!
