    AFROPUNK Festival Returned to Brooklyn August 23 and 24

    On August 23 and 24, the AFROPUNK Festival returned to Brooklyn’s Commodore Barry Park once again, bringing together a wildly eclectic mix of talent from various musical backgrounds, including LIB Featured Artist SZA, Straight Line Stitch, The Internet and many more artists who rocked the place with infectious bass and beats all day long.

    The event, which encouraged a donations-only admission policy, featured a wide host of vendors and even joined up with groups on Activist Row for an plethora of worldly themes, open-minded beings and music that can be described as superbly addictive.  Artists were arranged on the gold, green, red and black stages.

    Believe us when we say, every vigorous act had the crowd amped up with one great performance after the other!  The festival, whose food vendors catered enthusiastically to vegetarian and kosher palates, set up a range of dishes set to keep the physical energy of the crowd up and running.  These independent acts took care of balancing our party spirits with music that was intentionally designed to raise festival goers to a brand new level of enticement

    The Shopping

    AFROPUNK Spin Thrift Market provided a place to fill anyone’s shopping desires!  More than 80 of Brooklyn’s most unique local artists and retailers offering goods from trendy independent clothing, eyewear to books and artistic elements.
