Father’s Day is a day of honoring fatherhood and paternal bonds but it can also stir up negative emotions. What do you if have an absent or asshole father? Emotions can range the spectrum of sadness, anger, and disappointment. Those with a deceased dad might be honoring his memory, while others are looking for the courage to conquer the next toxic family gathering.

Netflix ”F is for Family” is an adult animated comedy about a suburban family in the 1970s. Season 4 focuses on the lead character, Frank Murphy and his complex relationship with his father William. ”F is for Family” shows how negative behavior can be passed down from one generation to the next. In fact, what the character Frank hates the most about his father is the bad qualities he sees in himself. It’s important to come to terms with your relationship and not let it negatively affect your future.

Watching ‘‘F is for Family” might be the cathartic release you need this Father’s Day.
