    iLuv Rollick: The Review

    1
By Ray Gruenfelder on October 24, 2014 Tech & Gaming

The Rollick is a portable Bluetooth stereo speaker with a rounded design similar to the Beats Pill, which makes it easy to pick up and carry for on-the-go use.  Rollick’s powerful dual speakers produce rich, high fidelity stereo sound that remains clear even at higher volumes. Rollick also comes with a lithium-ion rechargeable battery so you can enjoy music for hours whether you are out at the beach or just in your backyard.

In testing this, I was quite impressed with the fact that the speakers were quite loud and powerful with out distorting hardly at all for such a small unit which I was impressed with. Although I was a bit disappointed with the lack of bass provided by the unit, the mid and high ranges were good. The package comes with the unit as well as a micro USB to USB adapter. The company does not state exactly how long the rechargeable battery lasts, but considering the fact it is a Bluetooth unit powering two small speakers, I expect a reasonably long battery life.

Right after getting a new speaker (or speakers), I tend to crank the volume all the way up to test it to see if – and when – it distorts as well as the bass quality. The Rollick sounded really good cranked almost all the way up. About one or two notches before full volume, it is absolutely perfect. It did distort just a bit at full volume, especially on songs with heavier bass, but is fine at full volume with music that has less bass.

In way of set up, the Rollick is very easy to set up and use. It has buttons for power, pairing, and volume on the front of it. It paired easily with my iPhone 6. After pairing it for the first time, it should automatically pair the next time you turn it on, if your device’s bluetooth is turned on.

You can control not only play/pause but the volume from the front control panel as well as from your Bluetooth-connected devices which I found to be a nice feature. There is also a 3.5mm aux input for those who prefer a wired connection or for devices without Bluetooth connectivity. If you are a big fan of songs with bass, here is where you are going to be the most disappointed with the unit though the overall range was pretty good.

For pricing and availability, you can find this portable Bluetooth stereo speaker in black, pink, white, blue and red for $49.99 available on the iLuv site.
