    Our Expectations for the BET Hip Hop Awards

    There are few awards shows that reflect the diversity, genius and authenticity of hip hop. The BET Hip Hop Awards puts the spotlight directly on the art form that has rocked the Bronx and birthed some of the most prolific and intellectual minds in entertainment today. If you’re a fan of the awards, then you might have some special moments you are looking forward to watching.

    1. Snoop Dogg hosting the show The icon who has been a bit on celebrity roasts and other events, will be hosting the awards for the second consecutive year. For those who are not aware: Big Snoop is very funny, charismatic and able to keep the crowd entertained.

    2. Performances We are looking forward to TI, Common, Jay Electronica, Migos and a few others stepping on stage and rocking the mic. For some artists who have not reached megastar status just yes, the BET Hip Hop Awards can be compared to the Grammys in terms of mixing with entertainment legends. Their performances have to be on point as a result.

    3. The Actual Awards Who do you want to win Album of the Year? Best Club Banger, or the award for Best Hip Hop Online? At BET, categories are specifically tailored to feed into interests of the hip hop consumer. After another big year for the genre, and the awards are a reason to stop, relax and celebrate standout recordings and classic hard work.

    4. Cypher This might actually be the favorite part of the show. A beat, a mic, your voice and you skills, is all you need in the cypher. It is the best way to introduce some emerging artists to the mainstream crowd.

    Artists of the 2014 BET Cypher include: Remy Ma, Snow Da Product, King Los, Loaded Lux, Wiz Khalifa, Papoose and Ty Dolla Sign.

    For of the hip hop fans, this is our night to watch nearly all of our favorite MCs and singers illuminate the stage. What part of the BET Awards are you most looking forward to?

    I was born in Long Branch New Jersey. During childhood I wanted to become a chef such as Bobby Flay or Martin Yen. I graduated from Johnson and Wales University in 2003 with the expectation of making a career into the foodservice industry. The dream slowly faded away after years of lusterless opportunities that only lead to more experience, but career growth. In 2007 I was hired in the telecommunications industry as a customer service representative. During these last few years the passion for writing grew as I had to learn to express myself in distinct ways. Today I am in pursuit in of a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism this year and I have a blog that has been running for a year. Also my articles have been published in two separate entertainment magazines with an established fan base. In addition to that LIB Magazine appointed their “Video of the Day,” which I search viral content that is SEO friendly. This is in addition to writing for the hip hop section of the magazine where I talk about issues within the hip hop community. I also talk about topics touch directly within the hip hop community in Long Island. I also write on my own blog about social issues and news stories that seems too unbelievable to be true.
