New Albums 2015 – Rihanna Leaks New Song, Drake Releasing New Work

Ok, now that the champagne bottles have been popped and we all saw the ball drop. 2015 is finally here and the question that is on everyone’s mind is what albums are coming out for the new year? It’s no secret hip hop fans have been longing for some great albums since 2014 fizzled out.  The facts: NO hip hop album last year hit platinum status.  Iggy Azalea became an atomic powerhouse in the rap/pop world with her monster “Fancy,” single, her album barely broke gold. While other genres of music have continued to thrive, it seems that hip hop has fallen by the waist side.  Which is actually why I believe hip hop will come back strong in 2015.

    Lil Durk

2014 wasn’t a bust for everyone.  Besides the success enjoyed by Iggy, the now hip-hop veteran Nicki Minaj had a great year. Still, even with the girl power from Iggy, Nicki, and Beyonce it seems the overall atmosphere of the music has been stale.

I was so glad to hear that Meek Mill, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Jadakiss, Joey Badass, Lil Durk, Ludacris, Nas and a lot more are in the booth right now racking their creative brains and putting in work to make this year better than before.  I still want some females to shine as well, Beyonce is gearing up for another album and Rihanna just leaked a new song “World Peace,” which shows some depth and maturity from the usually raunchy pop star.

    Rihanna

More than the albums I’m looking forward to any competitive beefs between artists. As long as a disagreement is kept on vinyl – hip hop wins. One thing that has been lacking in artists has been real lyricism and a genuine love for the art. That is something that conveys in the music and with the people, so whoever comes out, let him or her shine.

I was born in Long Branch New Jersey. During childhood I wanted to become a chef such as Bobby Flay or Martin Yen. I graduated from Johnson and Wales University in 2003 with the expectation of making a career into the foodservice industry. The dream slowly faded away after years of lusterless opportunities that only lead to more experience, but career growth. In 2007 I was hired in the telecommunications industry as a customer service representative. During these last few years the passion for writing grew as I had to learn to express myself in distinct ways. Today I am in pursuit in of a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism this year and I have a blog that has been running for a year. Also my articles have been published in two separate entertainment magazines with an established fan base. In addition to that LIB Magazine appointed their “Video of the Day,” which I search viral content that is SEO friendly. This is in addition to writing for the hip hop section of the magazine where I talk about issues within the hip hop community. I also talk about topics touch directly within the hip hop community in Long Island. I also write on my own blog about social issues and news stories that seems too unbelievable to be true.
