The Best of Bay Fest 2017

    0
By Lauren Jablonski on June 6, 2017 Food & Drink

The sun was shining, the music was blasting and the beers were pouring at Great South Bay’s annual Bay Fest. Check out the festival highlights.

    Beer Bucket List

    Great South Bay Brewery
Robert Moses Pale Ale 5.2% abv
    Surfcaster Summer Wheat 4.5% abv
Field 5 Golden IPA 7% abv

Show your Long Island pride at the beach this summer with Great South Bay’s beach inspired brews.

    1940’s Brewing Company
Bohemia Blonde (American Blonde Ale) 6.6% abv

A hint of apricot makes this blonde ale fruity and easy to drink, perfect for summer!

    Garvies Point Brewery

    Sour Batch (Motueka) 5.1% abv

If you love sour beers, you must try this kettle sour dry hopped wheat ale; it will be one of your new local favorites.

    Lineup Brewing

“Did you hit it” 5% abv

Lineup Brewing is a female owned brewery from Brooklyn, NY. Owner and Head Brewer Katarina Martinez, uses song lyrics to name her beers after hilariously awful dates (something we all could use a drink after!) The “Did you hit it” beer is dry hopped with Huell Melon and is fruity and crisp. I highly suggest taking a trip to Lineup Brewing to taste some amazing beers and support women in the craft beer industry.

    Cool & Caffeinated

    Subtle Tea Company
Iced Tea is a summer staple, but many bottle teas are filled with chemicals and other additives. Subtle Tea is craft brewed tea company from Long Island serving up organic teas made with the best quality ingredients. I high recommend Plum, Green Apricot Orange and Tea-monade.

    Sail Away Coffee

Forget the iced coffee this summer; grab a Nitro Cold Brew from Sail Away Coffee. This cold brew is infused with nitrogen, which makes it is less acidic, smooth and creamy; you won’t even miss the milk!

    Outstanding Eats

    Island Empanada
Roy Pelaez, the owner and chef for Island Empanada, was trained in empanada making in Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. His “secret” sofrito seasoning gives the empanadas an authentic taste. Just like Pringles, you will not be able to just eat one of them; you will want to try them all!
