We were singing through the rain drops this year at Bay Fest, hosted by Great South Bay Brewery. We were dancing in the puddles, enjoying life and having no interest in drinking anything resembling a Budweiser. Bay Fest celebrates local breweries, and the resistance to being like everyone else. There is a spirit of community, and independence.

Tradewinds Rocking out GSB
The best of the best were here. GSB was pouring a fantastic Pilsner. GSB makes such a great product. My favorite has alway been the their Blood Orange and was being poured in their tasting room.
Great South Bay Brewery
Flying Belgium out of Oceanside, was serving a really tasty Belgium Blonde. It is going to be a hit this summer at all your BBQs!
Lagunita brought their IPA, Ale and a citrus beer. I’m not a big fan of hops so the IPA, although good, wasn’t my favorite. Their Citrusinensis was really tasty. I enjoyed this one.

The Best of the Best Montauk Brewing Co.
The best of the best was Montauk. I was alway a fan of their Summer Session, however they weren’t pouring it today. Instead I tried the Watermelon Session Ale. OMG this was amazing. Best beer so far! It had just a hint of watermelon and really clean aftertaste.
