Connecticut is known for its immeasurable amount of talented musicians and artists; these creators of sound and sway have all been through the hard work and determination it takes to make their name known. On Friday, October 24, LIB Studios hosted an album release party Dutch The Dreamer, a psychedelic (yes, psychedelic) hip hop artist from Meriden CT. In his album Insomnia, he delves into his loss of a close friend, gaining control of depression and creating a movement.
With the follower favorite “Hot Box The Whip” the mood couldn’t be dampened. Dutch, whose sound is inspired by everything from rap, jazz to classical music, performed several tracks off his new album:
“Somniloquy”
“Paradoxical Sleep”
“Parasomnia”
Dutch the Dreamer’s lyrics exposed the harsh realities he was forced to face and conquer. His fans speak highly of him: “…I can relate to everything he is saying….it’s not easy to put yourself out there, I respect him…” the epithelial boom of the base accompanied by lyrics and an artist finally free, the energy could barely be contained.
The contribution of the other musicians to the event didn’t go unnoticed. Dutch thanked the opening talent, Radiorah, Klasiq, and Stakcz who closed out the night all of which warmed the crowd and tied the night together.
The official video for “Hot Box The Whip” can be found on Dutch’s Youtube channel. In case you missed the release party at LIB, Dutch the master always keeps his fans tuned in at Dutchthedreamer.com . To listen to his music and join his movement go to soundcloud.com/dutchthemaster
