    Jay-Z and Kanye Attack Eminem

Jay-Z and Kanye Attack Eminem “Most Overrated”

What did Eminem do this time? Marshall Mathers has been known to use his lyrical ability to upset homosexuals, Christian groups, women, his ex wife…etc. You get where I’m going right? Even with evangelicals that wanted to silence him, he still had the respect and love of the hip hop community. Until now… Two of the biggest names in hip hop have both made it known that Eminem doesn’t live up to his rhapsodic, pill induced, live wire personna. Did he make a rap about Beyonce I didn’t know about? Did he make fun of Kim K’s butt ? Why would the “Watch the Throne” MC‘s take shots at a  battle ready artist like Em?

It seems Jay-Z has been holding in his true feelings about the Detroit rapper when it comes to his real talent. When he was asked about today’s music and Eminem came up Jay-Z wasn’t shy when saying “He dropped a few hot verses back in the day, but he’s been mad average for many years now. He is probably the most overrated rapper of all-time…” Hov went on to add that he doesn’t understand why Em has sold more albums than artists with “real talent“. Yes folks, the hate is real and surprising since Jay-Z is usually not vocal about other artists especially unprovoked.  There is a plausible explanation that makes sense. It’s not secret Jay-Z has been getting a lot of heat on him about infidelity rumors. Could this be a way to deflect some attention press on to something else? Another explanation could be a little more juvenile. Is Hov jealous of Em, because of all the attention Rihanna is giving him on tour together? Either one is possible.

It seems Mr. West agrees with his mentor on how Eminem is mediocre and hasn’t had a credible body of work in a long time. Kanye continues with “He could’ve been one of the greatest ever, but he let drugs and laziness get in the way. He should be a rap God, but I wouldn’t even put him in my top 5…” Could this be the beginning of beef between Eminem, Kanye and Jay-Z? Did these guys forget what Em has done to other rapper’s careers? Remember Benzino, Ja Rule, Nick Cannon, Mariah Carey, Insane Clown Posse, Limp Bizkit ,Everlast, Jermaine Dupri, Canibus. If some of those names(except Mariah) don’t sound familiar, then you can thank Em. After his diss records their careers suddenly took a deep decline and never really recovered.

Eminem has remained quiet in regards to the recent attacks on his talent and influence on the culture as a whole. I’m hoping really soon though, Em comes with some heat that unleashes his Ryu and Ken hurricane kick style fury on tracks. Honestly, I want to see this play out. Rap battles are also great for hip hop and Em, Jay-Z and Kanye all come from that era. Grab your popcorn folks, this is gonna be good. Who do you think would win?

I was born in Long Branch New Jersey. During childhood I wanted to become a chef such as Bobby Flay or Martin Yen. I graduated from Johnson and Wales University in 2003 with the expectation of making a career into the foodservice industry. The dream slowly faded away after years of lusterless opportunities that only lead to more experience, but career growth. In 2007 I was hired in the telecommunications industry as a customer service representative. During these last few years the passion for writing grew as I had to learn to express myself in distinct ways. Today I am in pursuit in of a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism this year and I have a blog that has been running for a year. Also my articles have been published in two separate entertainment magazines with an established fan base. In addition to that LIB Magazine appointed their “Video of the Day,” which I search viral content that is SEO friendly. This is in addition to writing for the hip hop section of the magazine where I talk about issues within the hip hop community. I also talk about topics touch directly within the hip hop community in Long Island. I also write on my own blog about social issues and news stories that seems too unbelievable to be true.
