These are difficult times. We see it. We are all staring at a global pandemic, the rise of nationalism, a movement of defund police, and others. Socially this is a tough time. To add more to this there is an uptick in racism. Valley Stream resident Jennifer McLeggan, has been dealing with this problem since buying her house in 2017.
Jennifer McLeggan has been racially harassed by her neighbor since 2017. Her neighbor has left dead animal in her yard, from squirrels to god knows what. The neighbor often brandishes weapons from his home. He even throws feces in her yard. This is just unacceptable. Jennifer McLeggan is a person, with children. This is unacceptable behavior.
New York State Senator Todd Kaminsky said “It’s our job right now to act as hard as we can to get the message out that this is intolerant, unacceptable and we can give it no oxygen whatsoever.” However words only have so much steam. We need action.
Words only go so far. We need action. We need action BEFORE this escalates. Today it’s branching a weapon, tomorrow is a shootout. That could be avoided. We need to protect EVERYBODY’S right to live peacefully. Jennifer McLeggan should be able to live peacefully.
