Fans gathered at the Great South Bay Festival
The first day of the Great South Bay Festival was ladies’ night. Thursday night belonged to Rachel Platten, Colbie Caillat, and Christina Perri performing on the Blue Point Brews Stage. Currently, the three are on their all female tour, “The Girls Night Out, Boys Can Come Too Tour.” Rachel Platten’s chart topping song, “Fight Song,” opened the festival.
Colbie Caillat graced the stage next, performing all of her hits from her first album “Coco” such as “Bubbly” and “Lucky”. She also performed her latest hit “Try.” Caillat also sang a new song that night that she said had not yet been recorded. It was a perfect setting for her performance with the sun just about to set. It was a full crowd of both young and old enjoying the great music and crafts.

Christina Perri closed out the first night of the festival with a huge crowd of screaming girls singing along to all of her songs. Perri sang and danced onstage along with her band. As well as played on her guitar and white piano throughout her set. The Pennsylvania native made sure to let the Long Island crowd know how much she loved them by talking about her best friend who is from St. James and how she frequently visited the area.

Mighty Mighty Bosstones
311 killed it playing all of their hits and jumping and dancing along with the crowd. 311 had crazy energy. We spoke with lead singer and friend of ours from Czech Funk. “311 was amazing. Their older tracks like ‘Down’ still plays so well.” And YES there is always room for crowd surfing.
I always loved the Mighty Mighty Bosstones. The Bosstones brought their own special vibe to Patchogue. It was time for fedoras and saxophones. It’s a different type of rock. The Bosstones are one of the most influential bands of my generations.
