January Events
The new year come with new opportunities and interests. We would like to highlight a few of them.
January 10th
Big aLICe- Industry City, Brooklyn.
Emergence Photo Exhibition and Thousand Dollar Dinner.
Emergence is an intimate portrait of self-directed creative Kelly M. Coffey, a collection of images which showcase her life’s greatest achievements and uncertainties. Inspired by unexpected transformative chaos, Kelly’s photos unveil the world as seen through her eyes, each image revealing fractured wonderment and joyful curiosities in survival and the reinvention of self.

Join us for a night of creatives showcasing what happens when we stay in pursuit of our dreams and never give up! The journey starts from a newly emerged insight and OFF WE GO! Final destination Big aLICe Barrel Room for a night of drinking, dancing, and storytelling with vedhead Photography and the Thousand Dollar Dinner with Matt Sucich.

Artport Studio in the Marine Air Terminal of LaGuardia Airport
This queens based artist duo will create a new 5- to 6-foot sculpture that celebrates the diversity of New York City’s community members as well as its visitors. Their project is titled “What is Your Name?” and visitors to the studio are encouraged to participate by introducing themselves to the artists. Participants will introduce themselves, write their names in their own language, and are asked to be recorded as they pronounce their name. By making these momentary connections, the artists hope to take a space that is typically filled with strangers – an airport – and recognize that we all have our own stories and identity.

Visit Natsuki and Haksul in their Airtport Studio in the Marine Air Terminal of LaGuardia Airport. For more info and to view hours (updated weekly) visit: https://www.queenscouncilarts.org/artport-residency
