The Paramount in Huntington serves as the world’s 12th highest attended entertainment venue. So it was only fitting that Long Island’s own Taking Back Sunday took the stage for their 500th show on Tuesday March 24th, 2015.
The lucky 500 was the band’s fourth Paramount concert in three and a half years.
“We’re Taking Back Sunday and we’re from right here,” said frontman Adam Lazzara. “We don’t get to say that very often.”
Taking Back Sunday played hit after hit back to back with minimal banter throughout the set minus the band pointing to their makeshift “Billy Joel style plack.” I had a blonde moment after hearing that comment, I thought the band was addressing the elephant in the room (comparing Lazzara’s DWI accusations to Billy Joel’s) however, the band was just proudly showing off they both have played and sold out shows at Huntington’s Paramount venue.
Taking Back Sunday’s fans are loyal as they come, they will continue to follow, support, and sing along every time they take the stage!
